The £100,000 Gigaclear Rural Sports Club Fund aims to support teams based in rural communities across the broadband company’s full fibre network, which spans 26 counties.
Sawtry Cricket Club successfully applied to the fund to buy a new video streaming equipment so they can live-stream home matches and create highlight packages to help boost player performance.
John Dudley, Sawtry Cricket Club Chairman, said: “This new equipment is very exciting for the cricket club as it offers our players the opportunity to appreciate their good performances on the field."
"The camera can also be used to record training sessions, to aid our coaching set up, which will provide valuable insights for our players young and old, who are trying to improve their skills across all facets of the game!”
Around 1,800 homes and businesses in Sawtry are now able to access Gigaclear’s full fibre broadband offering ultrafast speeds up to 900Mbps.
