Our £75,000 fund to help rural sports clubs

So far, our fund has helped over 30 sports clubs in Gigaclear areas to pay for much-needed equipment. Hear from our fund ambassador - cricket legend and Gigaclear customer Darren Gough:

At Gigaclear, we're all about championing the rural communities where we have built our full fibre network – giving them a helping hand to grow and prosper.

Local sports clubs are at the heart of rural communities. Yet balancing the books can often be a struggle. We're proud that our £75,000 fund is helping eligible clubs to purchase essential sporting equipment like cricket bowling machines, rugby training kit and football training goals.

Gigaclear signs Darren Gough

Joining us on our mission to help give rural communities a sporting chance is cricketing legend and Strictly Come Dancing winner Darren Gough, our Gigaclear Rural Sports Club Fund ambassador.

Darren grew up in the small Yorkshire village of Monk Bretton and joined the local cricket club aged eight. Within two years he was in the first team. He also loved football, but with no local club nearby, his dad decided to help set one up, called Belmont FC. As a parent, Darren enjoyed watching his sons play in the rural setting of Winslow Town Cricket Club.
