Who’s Your Unsung Hero?
At Gigaclear, we’re proud to invest over £100,000 in grassroots sports clubs like yours, recognising their vital role in enriching rural communities. Central to their success are the volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.
To celebrate these unsung heroes, we need your help. Below is a shortlist of three exceptional volunteers your club wants to honour. Simply vote for your chosen hero, and they could win £250 and a spot in our network finals—with a chance to win a £1,000 dream holiday!
For six years, Hillary has been coaching the U-13s ladies’ sumo wrestling team, taking them from Oxfordshire County division 4 to the Olympics in Tokyo. She maintains the club’s dohyo to county standards and her kachi-koshi is amongst the most impressive in the UK.
Without Bryony, the Claverham Ladies’ Beach Volleyball Team would simply not function. She’s in charge of kit, pumping up the ball and organising weekly sand deliveries with her equally enthusiastic father.
Harry’s been a volunteer at the club for 14 years, providing us with top quality grass, rolling it weekly before games and making sure it’s the best possible quality. ‘Weed’ isn’t a word in this groundsman’s vocabulary and without him, the club would disappear in a puff of smoke.
So, Who’s Your Unsung Hero?
Hillary Hilton
For six years, Hillary has coached the U-13s ladies’ sumo team, taking them from county division 4 to the Tokyo Olympics, while maintaining a top-class dohyo.
Bryony Brotherton
Without Bryony, the Claverham Ladies’ Beach Volleyball Team wouldn’t function. She manages kit, pumps up balls, and organises weekly sand deliveries.
Harry Hansford
Harry has volunteered for 14 years, providing top-quality grass, rolling it weekly, and ensuring perfect conditions. Without him, the club would be at a loss.
