Spencers Wood FC Bowled Over by Sports Fund Help
The £100,000 Gigaclear Rural Sports Club Fund aims to support teams based in rural communities across the broadband company’s full fibre network, which spans 26 counties.
Founded in 1977, Spencers Wood FC is a family friendly club that is committed to providing a happy and inclusive environment for children to learn and develop their football skills. It is affiliated with the Berks & Bucks FA.
Club Chair James Curran said: “We’re really grateful to the fund for supporting our grassroots club. It has enabled us to buy much-needed goals for our under-7s and under-8s teams. Finding the money to replace old equipment can often be a challenge for small rural clubs like ours which is why Gigaclear’s contribution is so important.”
Fund ambassador Darren Gough said: “Since launching the fund, it has gone from strength to strength, providing valuable support where it is needed most. It’s great to see so much kit and equipment being sent out to rural sports clubs such as Spencers Wood FC and I wish them every success. I believe the fund is helping make a difference to players now and to the rural sports teams of the future.”
