Milborne Port FC Score Big with Rural Sports Fund Help
The £100,000 Gigaclear Rural Sports Club Fund aims to support teams based in rural communities across the broadband company’s full fibre network, which spans 26 counties.
Thanks to the fund, the club is relishing adding sports equipment such as new free kick mannequins, a portable subs’ bench, rebound nets and training passing arcs to recently purchased gazebos to support player development.
Club Secretary Alison Baker said: “We were over the moon when we learned we’d got support from Gigaclear’s Rural Sports Club Fund. During the past few years, our club has grown enormously thanks to the dedication of local volunteers running our youth teams. We now have teams that go right from under-6s all the way up to under-18s.
“The fund’s support will allow us to purchase equipment that can help us offer more exciting training and also go on to be used during our summer camps, which we started last year. Our new gazebos will provide shelter for our youngsters in both hot and cold weather, which is so important! We may be a small club but our players have passion, our coaches have dedication and now we will have top quality training equipment to complete the package. Thank you Gigaclear!”
