Troubleshooting and Maintenance

Fix connection issues, optimise your WiFi coverage, and learn how to make the most out of you eero.

Understanding your eero lights

On the front of the eero, there is a LED status light. When everything is running correctly, the eero's light will be solid white. If your LED is in a different state, including a different color or is blinking/flashing, this guide can help you determine the issue.

Have dead spots or want to optimise your WiFi coverage?

Thick internal walls, dense building materials, furniture, plumbing, water, and other electronics may interfere with your WiFi coverage and performance. Whenever possible, aim for a direct line of sight between eero devices. Larger, multi-storey or unusually shaped homes may need an eero on each floor or extra devices for full coverage.

You may need to experiment with the location of your eero devices to ensure optimal performance or add another eero if you notice dead spots in your home.

Check your set-up of multiple eero devices

You can use the app to check the signal strength of the additional nodes.

Try moving the eeros around until you have at least 3 green bars showing in the WiFi symbol, whilst eliminating any WiFi dead spots.

Ideal placement

Do place them at a distance where their coverage overlaps to form a strong WiFi 'bubble'

Too far apart

Don't place eeros too far apart. The WiFi signal between them won't be strong enough

Too close

Don't place them too close together. You risk the WiFi signal not reaching the further parts of your property.
