Gigaclear has cemented its position as the UK’s largest rural full fibre broadband alternative network after celebrating the connection of its 75,000th customer in April. This represents a doubling of its customer base in only two years.

To celebrate the milestone, Gigaclear delivered flowers to pensioner Jean Heath MBE, from Chadlington in Oxfordshire, made a donation to one of her favourite charities, Sunshine Cat Rescue, and will provide her with free broadband for a year.

Jean’s son Calvin said: “As an existing Gigaclear customer, I was pleased to recommend the service to mum and dad. It’s important for pensioners like my parents to stay connected especially when living in rural communities even if their overall broadband usage is modest. Installing Gigaclear’s full fibre broadband was straightforward and quick. It was hassle-free.”

Gigaclear’s Chief Marketing Officer Nick Rawlings said reaching the landmark was a great achievement and would help propel them to achieve the ambitious targets that have been set for the next 12 months.

He said: “Our strategy is to take full fibre broadband to underserved rural communities where others fear to tread. We’re building our network and accelerating sales at a faster rate than ever before, as more and more consumers demand faster speeds and more reliable broadband. We’re look forward to reaching our next milestone of 100,000 customers in the near future.

With a nod to the Coronation of Charles III and Camilla on Saturday (May 6), Gigaclear launched the ‘king of all deals’ to prospective customers on Monday (May 1) – 500Mbps for £20 per month.
