How does One Touch Switch work?

Call us to switch

Once you’ve chosen your package, give us a call to get the ball rolling. Be sure to have your current contract details to hand.

2

We’ll contact your current provider

We’ll match details with your current provider and they'll send you switching information for you to review.

3

Seamless switching

Once you consent to the switch, we'll arrange for your new contract with us to start on the same day your current one ends.

Introducing One Touch Switch

One Touch Switch is a new process introduced by Ofcom, the regulator for the UK communications industry. Its aim is to streamline switching between broadband providers, making it easier for the customer.

With One Touch Switch, your new provider manages the entire switching process on your behalf, with the cooperation of your current provider.

The process only applies where both the new and existing connection are at the same property, and so it can't be used by home movers.

When you call us

When you call us to start your switch, you’ll need to have details of your current supplier and services to hand so we can make sure we’re switching the right services. We’ll talk you through every step on the phone, including the switching information you’ll receive from your current provider. For full details on the switching process please see our FAQs at the bottom of this page.

The benefits to you

No need to contact both providers

We’ll contact your current provider for you

No pressure to stay with your current provider

They'll get in touch to confirm the switching details

Simplified switching, as it should be

A better, hassle-free way to get the best broadband for you

We can also switch your home phone

Using the One Touch Switch process we can contact your current provider to arrange for your home phone service to be switched over to Gigaclear.

You can also keep your existing telephone number. With One Touch Switch, we need to provide you with a temporary number to use whilst your existing number gets transferred to our network. This is usually completed within two weeks of your home phone service being activated.

If you prefer not to use a temporary phone number you can still switch to Gigaclear without using One Touch Switch - you'll need to contact your current provider to end your contract with them.

Our promise to you

One Touch Switch also aims to manage your order efficiently and smoothly with minimal down time. However, in the event things don’t quite go to plan, we'll compensate you automatically for any One Touch Switch-related failures.

Please note, our One Touch Service is currently only available via the phone, where our friendly team are ready to get you set up. Just call us on 0370 863 7610 to start the One Touch Switch process.
