Organised by Gigaclear’s Health & Wellbeing 2022 Group to co-incide with the national Mental Health Awareness Week, the initiatives included health checks and chiropractor sessions, a financial wellbeing webinar and complimentary healthy breakfast options and involved all six of the company’s regions as well as the Direct Labour team in Swindon.
One of the organisers, Yoanna Yordanova, said she was delighted with the level of engagement among staff. She added: ““At the beginning of the year, we introduced our programme ‘Be You’ which aims to equip our employees with tools to practise self-care, build good habits into their daily routine and highlight the importance of taking time to pause in the day.
“Last week was filled with different activities that focused on helping us achieve this, including a financial wellbeing session, onsite health checks, healthy breakfasts, step challenge, chiropractor and massage sessions.
“There was a great vibe across the company. People were comparing their health checks and the healthy things they had eaten for breakfast. People were talking about it across our various locations and in the field! It would be great to think we might repeat it again in 2023.”
Feedback shared on LinkedIn included:
- “Proud to work for a company that takes its employees’ health and wellbeing seriously”
- “Working for an employer who cares about your health and wellbeing and celebrates the week by ensuing you know of all the amazing benefits you receive as an employee of the company including head massages and free health checks!”
- “Not everyone can say their company takes health and wellbeing so seriously. I am lucky enough to work for a company does”
Yoanna said: “Thank you to everyone who contributed to the organisation of the week and who got involved in the activities. Special shout out to everyone in our Health & Wellbeing Group!”
